HOW MOVIES AND TV SHOWS CAN CHANGE OUR BEHAVOUR AND THOUGTS 

 

 

Can television change and guide our opinions? Movies and TV shows may

 

provide entertainment and knowledge that can interfiere with our own opinion in

 

certain matters. Some scientists and journalists give us reasons to understand

 

why the cinema industry can change the way we think about something. I am

 

sure that with the information given below, I will demonstrate so.

 

 

 

To start, on June 18th, 2014 in the diary “Huff Post Divorce “Miss Tary Hillin

 

(Associate editor of the Huffingtong post, currently author, also screen writer

 

and Journalist ), explains her investigation about “how the movies and Tv

 

shows are changing the way people think about love”. According with the information,

 

she made a research at The University of Michigan that compares and shows if the

 

romantic movies can really help people to find the real love or to be more

 

romantic . The University studied 625 collage students (392 female) to

 

demonstrate if movies or TV shows were influencing their love lives ; moreover,

 

researches analyzed the students ideas about love and also gauged their

 

results, and finally the experiment was accepted by the sociologists and the participants could not  

 

believe the results, Miss Hillin said. Finally, the conclusion of the study

 

emerged and demostrated that more time exposure to romantic movies led to a greater tendency to

 

believe in real love and love at first sight . I personally agree with that. I

 

really think that romantic movies can teach us how to be more romantic,

 

because when we watch the performance of a character we directly learn

 

how to imitate his/her behaviour. This can happen also with comedies, drama,

 

politics, documental, etc.

 

 

 

I have a very personal experience watching movies that recount historical

 

events, like” Something might have done for History” (chilean series releted to

 

our development as a nation) and “Kingdom of heaven” ( movie about the

 

Cruzades) . So I could easely learn and understand more about the ancient history and

 

make my own opinion about it.

 

 

 

To deepen Dr. Pautz could plan more with his investigations. Pautz made a

 

cuestionarie to students at Midwestern College, getting answers about

 

goverment management before watching the movie ”Angolland Zero Dark Thirty.”

 

As a result, 20 to 25 per cent changed their opinion about the

 

government more favorably. As a conclusion, if a movie only shows the good

 

vague of a political party, maybe we will agree more with that political

 

party , so owr opinion can be changed or guided because of the movie showing

 

only the good side of a determined political party instead of showing both parts.

 

The same happens with the historical events, because if a movie

 

shows only the good things for example, the Second World War some

 

american movies showed that the “Allies” were the good ones and The Germans the bad guys. To get an

 

historical view, we need to go further. It means reading more books from different writers to achive a more

 

wide opinion about historical events.  

 

 

 

As we can see, movies may change the way of thinking about politics, but it is

 

possible that movies can give us an other way to get the spiritual growth.

 

Unfortunately spiritual growth cathegory is one of the less used in cinema.

 

So Edward Harness Spina, award wining author and

 

speaker, has been dedicated to introduce present practical- mystical  

 

techniques to improve people lives and expand their minds. He jumped into the

 

enterteinment industry, becuase the spiritual movies were very few due to the

 

plots bore people. He recommends to make topics with more

 

interesting characters and plots to promote interest in these kind of films.  

 

Then It could be possible that spiritual growth films became more popular

 

and people start watching them more and in the better cases, maybe star

 

believing on it. Moreover, I think these movies could build a better society in the

 

future and for the future generations having more values.

 

 

 

On the other hand, Sr. Khalid Yasin discusses how violent television has

 

become during the past years. Children spend most of their time in front of tv

 

sets with violent programs that change their peaceful behavior into aggressive

 

manners. So It would be highly recommended the children not to wacth

 

channels having violent programming. As a result, the more violence on

 

television the more aggressive children and people become.

 

 

 

With all information that I have given in this essay there is no doubt how

 

important is now a days television with all its programs, series, films, etc. But nevertheless, like individuals

 

with own opinions we must not lose our freedom. We are free to chose what is best for us.

 

this mass media should be used for good purposes to improve humanity.

How movies can change the way to see the world.

 Now a days one of the most common activities is to go to the movies with the family or friends. But do you think that movies can change people minds? This research will show or may give a point to explain how important can be movies in changing people minds.

Explain she’s investigation about “How Movies and TV shows are changing the way you think about love “, with this she makes a research from the University of Michigan to compare and know if the romantic movies can help people to find the real love or to be more romantic .The University studied 625 college students (392 of whom were female) to determinate if movies and TV shows were influencing their love lives, moreover “Researchers then analyzed the students’ ideas about love and also gauged whether or not participants believed that TV portrayed real life or saw it as total fantasy” said Miss Hillin. Finally the conclusions of the study emerged and :” More exposure to romantic movies led to a greater tendency to believe “love finds a way” and can overcome all obstacles, more shows of romancy make people belive in the true love or love at first sight. Again this information give you some reasons about how the romantic cinema can help you in the love or to find them , for example maybe in a great movie the main character could be nice and gentle with another woman , and “you” indirecly are learning .

In hence do you think if movies can change our minds ?, or the way to think about something, I really think that movies can deliver many information about politics , or explaining history sequences, I have a very personal expirience watching movies that recount historical events like “what they do with the history “, (chilean movie )or Kingdom of heaven (movie about the crossed), if you think that my point of view does not say anything, Michelle C.Pautz (an associate professor of political science at the University of Dayton) that suggests that films can influence people(writed in the New York times in February 4 of 2015 ). How , Dr. Pautz made a cuestionnarire to the students of Midwestern college , explaining what do they opine about the goverment before see “Argo” and “Zero Dark Thirty” (movies). But fortunately the 20 to 25 porcent changed their opinion of the goverment more favourably. Knowing this , we can have another reason that movies really could have an influence in people. 

In conclusion , If movies can influence people with politics or history , what is hapenning with the Spiritual Growth. Edwin Harness Spina (award-winning author and speaker. Ed is dedicated to presenting practical mystical techniques to improve people’s lives and expand their minds. His workshops and seminars emphasize the practical application of these techniques to help others manifest their dreams), he went to a entreteinement industry a and many people lamented that the spiritual movies are very few of them. The reason of this said EH.Spina, is that the spiritual movies do not have a good plot and they have bored main characters. As a result he talks about the” The Law of the Triangle”(“ when two opposing energies come together, there is the potential to create a third energy”, concored Sr.Spina), to regard is that the movies with two completly diferrent characters most of the time they call more the attention. To end, spiritual movies to be more considered, need an improvement with the theme and the characters to complete a good plot.

If movies may change the sociaty or the way to think in some matter , what happened if young people saw unnecessary things. To support my opinion, the video “The influence of movies and south park , according to Khalid Yasin”realice that today channels show 65 porcent of violance , and children are the most to watch programs (aproximate 4 hours), but what is happening with the children channels with programs like south park , that have a lot of violence and bad words, this programs givechildren a bad image and over time they can become more aggressive. Las December ,I traveled with my best friend (Pancho) to Tokyo ,all this started when we talked in telegram about “the perfect place to live in the future ” ,and we decided to traveled to Tokyo to see if the information of that city it is true .We fainted that Tokyo is one of the most Pacific’s places in the world .

Me and my mate* arrived to the Narita air port and the weather was really bad ,It’s was raining too hard and some flights was canceled .Then we entered to the airplane we ate a lot of delicious thinks .When the air plane stopped switched* of where we stay in the “Millennium Mitsui Garden Hotel Tokyo “(the hotel is in the center of Tokyo ).The place was so chilled* and cozy and the people was so Pacific,and finally the street had a lot of lights and good cars.

We felt great and I met a Japanese girl.Her name was Ikki Song and she recommended some good restaurants in Tokyo ,In conclusion I recommend a lot to travel to Tokyo very much ,It’s so funny and beautiful ,Good Luck.
